Great Movie Channels On Direct TV

There is no doubt about it; Direct TV is a great solution for any home that is tired of dealing with poor cable service. The satellite quality is above and beyond what you will get with any cable provider and is more reliable, too. Not only that, there are plenty of great movie channels on Direct TV to satisfy even the biggest movie buff! No matter what type of movie you like, you will almost always find one to watch.
First, you have the Lifetime channels, of which there are two. The Lifetime Movie Network plays great made for television movies day in and day out. If you get excited over the typical “whose baby is it?” or “he’s cheating with the neighbor” plots, Lifetime is a great movie channel on Direct TV. They are great movies if you want to watch something entertaining, but can’t give 100% of your attention. You can still keep up as the plots are not all that complicated.
Of course, another great movie channel on Direct TV is HBO! HBO is very popular, not only because they play great movies, but they also have some well-known shows, such as the Sopranos, Six Feet Under, and Sex in the City. These shows are on just once a week, so the rest of the time viewers can enjoy back-to-back movies. Subscribers to HBO will enjoy the combination of old and new movies, allowing them to see some of the movies they loved, as well as the new movies they didn’t see in the theatres. HBO provides some great movies on Direct TV for the young and the old.
Showtime is another great movie channel on Direct TV. Like HBO, viewers have several channels to choose from, all of which show different movies at any given time. Showtime is also becoming known for their television shows, such as Dexter, not just their movies, making it another good selection for television viewers. Showtime is much like HBO; they have a mixture of newer movies that have just been released on DVD, and older movies dating back to the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s, and even older on occasion.
Starz is another of the great movie channels on Direct TV. Starz works much like HBO and Showtime. Starz offers several channels of great movies day and night. They offer a mixture of the new and old, as well, meaning you can catch a new release or watch a movie you haven’t seen since you were a kid!
There is also Cinemax, which isn’t as popular as it used to be, but it is still around. Cinemax generally offers a new movie each week and then plays movies from various years and different genres through the rest of the week. You can almost always find good choices on Cinemax. Cinemax is one of the few true movie channels left as they show movies day and night and are not so many regular television shows. While the television series shows are a great feature for some, Cinemax is still preferred by those who just want to watch movies!
There is also an independent film movie channel offered by Direct TV that is outstanding, if you are open to movies that are not mainstream. One has to remember that some truly outstanding movies have been independent films purchased by the larger motion picture studios; so some of these movies are truly outstanding! The great thing about Direct TV is with so many choices, if you don’t like what is on one channel, you can easily watch movies on another.
If you are adventurous, you will also enjoy the Playboy channel, as there are some great movies there, as well! Of course, you have to be willing to have the kids leave the room and even give up some quality acting and well-formed plots, but, if you are into that sort of thing, you’ll find a great movie channel on Direct TV for every occasion!
